Forty hectares in the botanical garden

Shanghai Botanical Garden’s professional exhibition covers 40 hectares, divided into four principal zones. The announced programme includes 41 floral attractions and more than 400 plant varieties. Eighteen new plant varieties, selected from submissions by 28 organisations in China and abroad, will make their debut across the wider show.

Gardens among shops and streets

Huangpu’s programme will bring more than 40 themed gardens and over 60 window displays into the district. The citywide format also includes 10 satellite venues, among them Fuxing Island, Chenshan Botanical Garden, Binjiang Forest Park and Gongqing Forest Park. Commercial areas, parks and other green spaces across all 16 districts participate.

The central displays make flowers part of a day already containing lunch, shopping or a walk. The botanical garden offers a longer visit focused on the plants themselves. These are different scales of experience, and the show is broad enough to accommodate both. More than 100 activities link flowers with culture, tourism, commerce and sport, while 34 commercial districts will carry related programmes.

Dates and addresses

The main festival runs 18 April–10 May 2026. Shanghai Botanical Garden (上海植物园) is at 1111 Longwu Road, Xuhui (徐汇区龙吴路1111号). Huangpu’s main-venue displays occupy several central locations; the official programme gives the individual gardens and routes.

Admission arrangements differ between parks, specialist displays and street installations. The citywide festival dates do not make every participating garden free or give each venue identical opening hours.
